10 SMALL THINGS TO MAKE YOU HAPPIER

1. keep bright lights on. It’s more likely that you’ll be a) more motivated and awake b) focus better on tasks at hand c) generally more productive

2. open your windows while you’re doing homework (unless it’s dayum cold outside like it is right now) the fresh air makes a big difference in how you feel

3. brush your teeth really really well every day, at least twice. 

4. DO NOT FEEL BAD FOR NOT HAVING YOUR “THING”. I cannot stress this enough, do not waste a minute of your precious time and an ounce of your happiness stressing over not having a strictly defined diet, a single passion, a single expertise. try everything, quit things you don’t enjoy, be real with yourself, grow grow grow, eat meat on wednesdays, be vegan for a month, YOU SHOULD NOT AND DO NOT NEED TO HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT YET.

5. keep your nails tidy, apply cuticle oil and top coat

6. even when it seems stupid, be fucking positive. I don’t mean naive, though. there is a big difference.

7. sleep with an eye mask or ear plugs and sleep on time! I should be better abt this….

8. wear perfume. smell nice.

9. buy a nice body scrub (or make one) and use it in the shower. soft legs, even if only you notice, are always nice.

10. write everything down. journal every day, write down EVERY idea, story line, little moment you enjoy, little moment you imagine, goal, doodle, character, opinion, motivation, quote, you name it. write it all down somewhere in a little notebook and don’t throw a scrap away, not even the angsty or embarrassing shit. this will be valuable one day like nothing else.

  2. Change your whole outfit - underwear, shoes, hairstyle, the lot
  3. Scribble with a Crayon as hard as you can on a big sheet of paper
  4. Go to a library and wander around in the quiet
  5. Make a wish list on each of your favorites shops’ websites
  6. Go to sleep as early as you can bare
  7. Play the “would you rather?” game with a friend
  8. Talk to your sibling(s), see what they’re up to
  9. Sit down and study for a bit, then see how you feel
  10. Open a window, sit next to it and smell the fresh air
